Trusting the Field

The landscape of our hearts, the landscape of our love, the landscape of our bodies and capacities for compassion and empathy – this diverse world offers us diverse ways of knowing – personally, collectively, and ancestrally. Each of us has spiritual capacities bestowed upon us by our unique biology and heritage.

One purpose of the Love Continuum is to clear the stagnation from the body. The other purpose is to connect with the deeper, higher, and broader strata of consciousness that anchors our wholeness, our multi-dimensional integrity, in this body, in this lifetime.

Emily Conrad often said,“We have Swiss-cheese bodies. There are holes where we ought to be feeling our wholeness.”

Self-realization is not a matter of going into the past, or being a past self. The past exists in us now unless we have attended to the holes, the places where depression, terror, or near-death can stagnate, blocking out the light.

AN ANCESTRAL VOICE

One day while meditating on streams of wise light moving from the soul star above my head into my crown, heart, and down my legs to the land, I heard a voice saying, “Feed the Children.”

Before I could even ask a question, the inner voice said, “An ancestor. I come from the Āina.” Here in Hawaii, the land is Āina, an Olelo Hawaii word meaning “that which feeds.”

I had recently learned that in our neighborhoods here on the island, 1 out of every 5 children was going to bed hungry most nights. Listening to the ancestors about this hardship gave me an impossible thought. Why couldn’t we create a more nourishing world by feeding children?

Loving what life was giving to me and passionate about the idea, I trusted the field, moving with the new energy, and found myself on my knees in gratitude – grateful for the depth of my meditation, the voice of the ancestor, and for this mission that settled in my heart and bones.

I was thrilled to learn that enlightened people around me had similar visions of encouraging children with nutritional food and also soul food – the arts of kindness, creativity, painting, and silk peace flag-making — gathered together.

So, from 2013 – 2016, we offered Christmas Feasts to Feed the Children, sit-down Dinners and Art Events for the whole family. Each year we served 800 meals to hungry keiki, 250 of them served hot from the kitchens at Queen Emma Center, the New Thought Center, and from dozens of partners in their private homes. More than 500 take-home Blessing Bags with 2500 meals and hygiene items, tools, and gifts were shared with hundreds of families to sustain them over the 3-week school vacation.

By 2017 we had collected enough flags for an exhibit of 108 Blessing Banners painted by children, tweens, teens, and families at the Mango Festival, Kau Festival, Kealakehe and Kahakai Elementary Schools as well as Konawaena High School and Kalani Honua. Onlookers, parents, and volunteers often said things like “Oh my God!” or “How beautiful!”

The impossible thought that we could Feed the Children, coming from a place deeper and more grounded than my own personal life, gave me courage and commitment to create a better world through meal sharing and teaching peace arts.

The idea that sparked the path of service came from the Dreaming.

The Love Continuum that we are offering this weekend at the New Thought Center of Hawaii is an opportunity to set aside time for listening deeply to what your Higher Self is Dreaming up for you, and the direct revelations can be surprising.

In a sacred space, supported by theta state music and drumming, the cultural frameworks that overuse the left brain and take up most of our time, will be laid aside. We’ll dive into your right-brain-leaning primordial and cosmic bodies to open new gateways in the connective tissue between yourself and Nature’s helping spirits and ancestral wisdom-keepers who want to connect with you.

It’s different for each of us because we all have unique blueprints that come into focus when we slow down enough to see, gaze, listen, and inquire in the multiple dimensions and frequencies.

ANOTHER ANCESTRAL MEMORY

A remarkable journeyer, a woman I’ll call Linda, gave me permission to share her story. She wrote to me after last month’s Love Continuum gathering, telling me the headaches she had experienced were gone. “Occasionally a sense of well-being comes over me for no reason at all. This being at ease and feeling so fine has not happened in a long time. Sweet. Stuff is moving/clearing.”

She reminded me of a lucid dream she had with a convoy of 2-wheeled wagons loaded with stakes and yoked to men had led her to wonder, “Where are the women? And what’s ‘at stake’?”

“Well, here is an intensive need for ancestral healing,” Linda realized. “It came to me a week after our workshop. I wasn’t even thinking about it. It just came to me: Women were burned at the stake. Hideous trauma. No wonder my affliction/struggles with the invisible world went on for so long, all starting right after that dream.”

Feeling betrayed, targeted, fearful, and ashamed for many years, and not knowing that she carried this ancestral trauma, she had a hard time transmuting the wounds into wisdom. It didn’t fit into her biography. It was from a previous life of a genetic ancestor, still vibrating and alive in her DNA.

“Now I don’t feel so bad about not being able to shake it. Something is getting worked out because of it. I read up on the history of those dark ages. Heavy duty. The witch hunts, trials, and executions only started after the Protestant Reformation. No problems before that. Then something like 40,000 people in Europe were tortured and condemned (falsely) for about 1,500 years.”

“Theory is that Catholic and Protestant Churches began competing for worshipers, using fear and promises of safety from the devil to convert. Eerily, it is like the Democrats and Republicans of today using similar propaganda to win votes. The patterns go on.”

The patterns go on until we stop them, and Linda has. “Every day this returning sense of peace wells up unbidden within me. The time is now.” She has learned to trust the fields of energy both inside and outside her body. She is relating to her own mind and the objective world in a more balanced way.

Recovering ancestral memory and listening to the whispering of our family’s past and our personal past lives helps us to heal the present and prepare whole-heartedly for a future where traumatized patterns from the past are healed, and we can enjoy and live our lives for optimal health and climate healing.

A little later on, Linda told me, “A stupendous synchronicity came my way today. “Shift happens. Burning stakes transform to supportive poles.” She said a truck pulling a trailer loaded with Ohia poles flashed right before her eyes.

“Such a familiar sight but I am not ‘dreaming’ and these are beautiful. I followed with utter glee.” Two enormous bundles of likely fence posts filling the length of the trailer, all varieties, all sizes, refined and most striking for me, now I have a new image for my mind.

“When the driver pulled over to check his strapping belts, so did I. I was ridiculously excited and got his permission to take a picture. He was a buff, older Polynesian. I told him I admired his Ohia Poles. I briefly told him I was healing my ancestral lineage where women were burned at the stake as witches in Europe. He smiled. He reached out and shook my hand. He told me his Ohia poles are all salvaged. (I love that word)”

This load was from Kau. When land gets cleared for construction, the trees are salvaged. This load was going to Mauna Kea Resort Areabut poles often get shipped to other islands.

“I told him how beautiful they were and he shook my hand again. Then we both went on our way.

“Life is good.”

Linda could look at her internal life, her family heritage, and wooden posts in the external world in a new, more empowering way. Digesting experiences that are held in our bodies and integrating new perspectives unearths and heals the pain around old events and allows us to share vibrant energies in larger fields. We don’t need to spiritually bypass the difficulties. We need the integration, to stay true to who we really are, and to trust the field.
