Touching the Heart - Painting for Peace at the Ka'u Festival
Aloha Kakou!
Thank you so much for your kind messages, visionary support, funding, sense of fun, prayers, and knowledge. It means the world to me. Your presence and encouragement inspire me every day.
Readers, volunteers, allies, artists, and child art whisperers like you know that giving each child a paintbrush, a smile, a song, and the means to paint a peaceful world on silk flags is a pure act of hope. It’s long-lasting nourishment for the calm and mindful creativity we want for future generations.
BUT CAN CHILDREN PAINTING FLOWERS REALLY SOOTHE THE PLANET?
If you are in the vicinity, come and find out. We’ll be at the Ka’u Festival on Saturday, September 21st.
We are offering a special “Paint for Peace” booth where children – and young-at-heart folks too! — will come together to paint on silk, creating beautiful Peace Flags to take home and/or gift to communities in need.
Children experience peace as they explore color, line, form, and the magic of ART. Then, in the midst of whatever comes their way, ArtWavEs Peace Painters know the colors of Inner Peace, and that we are only one breath, one smile, one painting away from cultivating World Peace.
PEACE PAINTING COMMUNITY SERVICE & FUN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
You are invited to be a part of the AWE (ArtWavEs) that happens when a child’s heart is touched by the magic of their own intentional creativity and empowerment to affect their inner lives in a positive way.
Anyone who wants to make more peace and beauty on Earth by serving children and families in Kona this winter and next spring is someone I want to know better and spend more time with.
Here are some ways we can do that:
1 – We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who can assist the children with their painting projects and someone to help with tent and table set-up on September 21st in Ka’u. In advance, please volunteer one or two hours of ironing new silks to frames. Simple, easy, very Zen work meditation.
Your support will not only help foster creativity but also reflect a message of peace and unity within our community. Call or text 808-345-0050 for more details.
Come, come whoever you are!
